Power4Steel, with €4.6 billion, is the largest decarbonization project in the European steel industry. The transformation from coal-based steel production to gas- and electricity-based steel production offers great opportunities but also significant risks. The change in the business model from the production and sales of grey steel to the production and sales of green steel means disruptive changes at almost all levels of business processes, which carry both great opportunities and high risks. Dr. Bott’s presentation is intended to provide a compact overview on the one hand of the construction of the plants and on the other hand of the opportunities and risks in the business model.
