An invitation to visit Kanthal, Hallstahammar on 17th June 2024.
Kanthal and its parent company Alleima invite you to a factory tour with sustainable steelmaking in focus.
Electrification of heating processes will be an important piece of the puzzle to decarbonize steel production. At Kanthal’s production site in Hallstahammar, Sweden, electric furnaces have been used for decades to pre-heat ingots and billets before rolling. Join us on this site tour to learn how it works.
You will also get the chance to listen to Håkan Sundström, Head of Governance and Sustainability at Alleima who will discuss how the company’s production of advanced stainless steels and special alloys has become more sustainable and how their products can make a difference. With over a century of reliance on recycled steel and a furnace powered by 100% fossil-free electricity, Alleima's contribution to Sweden's CO2 emissions stands at a mere ~0.2%".
Lunch is included!
Places on this tour will be limited so book early to avoid disappointment!
It's an exceptional opportunity to assess the evolution of the steel industry and to meet relevant people.
Would highly recommend to my colleagues in charge/involved with the 4.0/digitalisation business as the event gives a very good global view.
